Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself...

"My name is HOV, H to the O V!" Just kidding… [from Jay Z's "Public Service Announcement"]
—but for real, let me reintroduce myself.

My name is actually Krystyn and I'm a Fashion Styling major from Hawaii, currently attending Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

I originally started this blog with one of my best friends, Yujin back in 2009. Distance and time made it harder for us to both keep up with the blog during college. As Yujin went to Germany for college and I stayed at home and went to a local business college, the blog stayed untouched. We, however, still remained fashion soul mates. No ocean or continent could ever break that bond that indestructible bond.

Now, in a new college, new city, new state, and a new life—I'm read to start my career. Fashion: the one magnetic force that has always had it's hold on me and probably always will. She is my romantic love affair that will never break my heart. Even though I am away from the home I grew up in, and probably might almost never move back, home is where the heart is—and my heart will always belong to fashion.

Love,
Kikue

Anorak It!

Romper | House of Aria
Anorak Jacket | Forever 21
Boots | Necessary Clothing
Necklace | House of Aria

I've always just worn this romper on a special night out or a more semi-casual outing, but I wanted to challenge myself to translate this into a more wearable school day outfit. Roaming through my closet I spotted my anorak jacket hanging there. It was the perfect thing to chuck on to downplay the intricate beading sewn onto the front of the romper. It turned into the perfect school outfit and I didn't feel too over-dressed at all :]

{In Limbo}

February, for me, was always in a state of limbo. It's no longer the season for vampy lipsticks and winter flannel's. It's not quite the season for my sun-dresses and sheer kimono cardigans yet. So tis the season of limbo when you are in that transitional period of your wardrobe.

The weather in San Francisco is still a bit chilly, but I still wanted to wear a lighter flowy dress. I decided to still keep it within the realm of fall by throwing on a chunky, comforting, grandpa-esk sweater and felt, wide-brimed hat. I've been dying to bust this sweater out of my closet for years, ever since finding this at a Goodwill back home; but alas, the weather in Hawaii was always overwhelmingly hot, or bewilderingly humid. When I went left for winter break and found this treasure in my old closet, I had to bring it back with me to San Francisco.

In the game of limbo, it's all about balance. [Perfect coming from a Libra, don't ya think ;) ]
